Trump delivers longest address to Congress on record

President Donald Trump delivered the longest address to Congress in history on Tuesday, speaking for 108 minutes, surpassing his own 2025 record of 100 minutes.

Axar.az, citing Axios, reports that the extended length reflects a broader trend of increasingly lengthy presidential addresses, often prolonged by applause and interruptions.

Although Trump said he would focus on the economy and affordability, much of the speech centered on immigration and tariffs. During the address, he also presented six medals, five to military members and one to Team USA hockey goalie Connor Hellebuyck.

Trump’s 2025 speech contained nearly 9,900 words, exceeding Joe Biden’s 2023 record and overtaking Bill Clinton’s previous duration record from 2000.

Historically, presidential addresses have grown longer over time, with the median length rising steadily since the 1960s.
