Russia begins Tu-214 aircraft production

Russia has finalized the certification of the Tu-214 medium-range passenger aircraft and is now moving forward with its serial production.

Axar.az, citing Russian media, reports that the announcement was made by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin while presenting the government’s annual report to deputies of the State Duma.

Mishustin noted that Russian engineers are steadily restoring core competencies in aircraft manufacturing. Throughout 2025, specialists carried out extensive testing of aircraft incorporating domestically developed technologies and materials.

Alongside the Tu-214 program, the Prime Minister highlighted several other priority aviation projects, including the MC-21 passenger jet, the upgraded SJ-100, the regional Il-114, and the multipurpose “Baikal” aircraft equipped with a Russian-made engine.
