The fences of some private houses were damaged as a result of the earthquake in Shamakhi this night.

Axar.az reports that three people were injured and were hospitalized in the wake of the earthquake.

According to the Republican Center of Seismological Service under the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, the underground tremor was recorded at 23.31, 11 km southwest of the Pirqulu station in Ismayilli. The tremors magnitude in the epicenter was about 6 points and in suburban areas, it reached 5.4 points.

The Ministry of Education has provided information on the damage caused to schools by the earthquake that occurred last night in Shamakhi.

Axar.az reports that the Ministry that as a result of the quake, cracks occurred in one school in Ismayilli, and 4 schools in Shamakhi.

At present, representatives of the Ministry of Education are inspecting those schools.
