Ukraine and Hungary players were involved in a mass brawl in the final minutes of their Nations League group-stage opener.

Axar.az reports that the match in Budapest ended with Ukraine winning 1-0. However, tensions escalated sharply on the pitch during stoppage time.

In the second minute of added time, Ukraine forward Oleksandr Nazarenko was involved in a strong challenge with Hungary midfielder Raymund Toth near the touchline. The Ukrainian player was shown a second yellow card and sent off for the incident.

Shortly afterward, Ukraine forward Viktor Tsygankov got into a verbal altercation with Hungary captain Dominik Szoboszlai. Hungary defender Milos Kerkez stepped in to defend his teammate, after which other players from both teams, including substitutes, joined the confrontation.

Ukraine captain Mykola Matviyenko grabbed Kerkez by the collar of his shirt. At the height of the confrontation, Matviyenko also fell to the ground.

Meanwhile, various objects began to be thrown from the stands toward the players. One of them struck Hungary midfielder Andras Schafer in the head.
