A terrorist attack was prevented on the Turkish-Syrian border.

Axar.az reports citing Turkish media.

Reportedly, the attack was prevented as a result of a special operation carried out by the police of the Sanliurfa Province.

During the operation, 65 kilograms of explosives and a remote detonation device were found.

According to preliminary reports, the attack was planned to be committed by members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

The conflict between Turkey and PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has lasted more than 35 years, claiming more than 40,000 lives. PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by the UN and the EU.
