Azerbaijani people's artist Afaq Bashirgizi has been operated from lumbar vertebral column in the National Diagnostic Center On March 5.

According to information of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the surgery realized by President of foundation Mehriban Aliyeva. People's Artist Afag Bashirgizi’s health-related issues are under the patronage of the First Lady of Azerbaijan.

Extensive tests were carried out about the health of national ensemble before the operation and with the participation of Azerbaijan experts and doctors who were invited from Turkey decided surgery.

The eve of operation, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Executive Director Anar Alakbarov met with Afag Bashirgizi in the National Diagnostic Center and he said President of the Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva highly appreciated the people's artist of his health closely and kept in custody.

Afag Bashirgizi will be a short rehabilitation period after surgery in Republican Diagnostic Center.
