Turkiye developed laser weapons with AI -

Turkiye has developed laser weapons using artificial intelligence. One of its types is the ALKA (directed energy weapon system) laser weapon manufactured by the ROKETSAN company.

Axar.az reports that ALKA is an innovative weapon system developed with artificial intelligence architecture. Thus, it is a hybrid air defense system that uses electromagnetic and laser technologies against asymmetric threats. The ALKA system was presented for the first time at the IDEF-2019 defense exhibition held in Istanbul.

It was reported that this type of weapon can be installed on armored vehicles and stationary objects, it is mainly intended for the destruction of drones, as well as for the remote detonation of mines and improvised explosive devices.

The maximum distance for the weapon is 4 km, and the effective destruction distance of the drone is up to 1 km. ALKA can hit different targets. Thus, the defense of objects against UAV attacks will have a unified structure.
