U.S. suspends visas for all Afghan passport holders

The U.S. State Department has suspended visa issuance for all holders of Afghan passports.

Axar.az reports that this was announced by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on X (formerly Twitter).

“For the U.S., there is nothing more important than ensuring the safety of our country and our people,” Rubio stated.

He emphasized that the decision was made by the Donald Trump administration for national security purposes.

It should be noted that on November 26, a shooting occurred near the White House in Washington targeting National Guard soldiers. Two soldiers were killed during the attack. The shooter has been identified as Rahmanulla Lakanval, an Afghan national.
