Hajiyev: Armenia and Azerbaijan advancing peace agenda

We are working to ensure that no one comes to the region to lecture us.

Axar.az reports this was stated by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, while speaking at the panel discussion “Multilateralism in Crisis: Rethinking Global Cooperation” held as part of the Global Baku Forum in Baku.

He noted that countries outside the region may present their interests and contribute to regional development:

“During the first years of independence, we pinned our hopes on international organizations. We resolved the conflict through military and political means. Today, Armenia and Azerbaijan are further advancing the peace agenda.”
