The latest round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Estonia has been held in Baku.
Axar.az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, that the Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, while the Estonian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Martin Roger.
During the consultations, the sides reviewed the current state of political relations between Azerbaijan and Estonia and emphasized the role of mutual visits and meetings on international platforms in ensuring the continuity of bilateral dialogue.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the opening of Estonia’s embassy in Azerbaijan.
The meeting also focused on the current state and future prospects of cooperation in the economic, humanitarian, and educational fields. The sides exchanged views on strategic energy and transport projects implemented at Azerbaijan’s initiative and with its active participation, as well as prospects for cooperation within international organizations.
The parties discussed the current situation in the region, efforts aimed at normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and large-scale reconstruction, rehabilitation, and demining activities being carried out in the territories liberated from occupation.
Other regional and international issues of mutual interest were also addressed during the consultations.
