Moscow won't let Ukraine stance overshadow ties with Baku

Russia and Azerbaijan do indeed hold different views on the situation in Ukraine, but Moscow is taking a pragmatic approach and does not believe such differences should affect bilateral relations, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Axar.az reports that "There are a number of countries with which we have close relations that share this position—a position with which we fundamentally disagree. Yes, this is an area of disagreement," Peskov said.

"At the same time, we do not believe this is a reason for the issue to cast a shadow over our bilateral relations. We are taking a pragmatic approach."

"We believe we should continue to develop our relations in every possible way, especially with a country such as Azerbaijan," the Kremlin spokesman added.
