Ukrainian drones hit Russia's Salavat petrochemical plant

Ukrainian drones struck Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, one of Russia's largest petrochemical complexes in the Republic of Bashkortostan, overnight on July 14.

Axar.az informs, citing Russian media, the facility is located about 1,500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

According to the Ukrainian channel Supernova, the attack likely hit the AVT-6 primary oil distillation unit and Workshop No. 20, where high-density polyethylene is produced.

Economic analyst Vyacheslav Shiryaev said Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat had been the last major gasoline producer in Russia that had not been affected by Ukrainian strikes in 2026.

"This removes another 11,000 tonnes of daily fuel supply from the Russian market — about 5% of domestic demand," he said.
