Magnitude 5.0 earthquake hits Mexico

A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Chiapas state in southern Mexico.

Axar.az reports, citing the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), that the tremor was recorded 15 kilometers south of the city of Tapachula.

The earthquake originated at a depth of 80 kilometers.

Authorities said there were no reports of casualties or damage.
