Azerbaijan, Russia to resume direct flights

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said direct flights between Azerbaijan and Russia on several routes are expected to resume in the near future after being suspended following the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) passenger plane in December 2024.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, speaking at a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, Bayramov said:

"In the near future, direct flights on a number of routes that were subject to restrictions following the well-known tragic incident involving our civilian aircraft in December 2024 are expected to resume."
