The asset forfeiture has been carried out as part of criminal proceedings initiated against Yanukovich.

Axar.az informs, Ukrainian court has confiscated valuables, cars and real estate in Mezhigorye, the residence of Ukraine’s ousted ex-President Viktor Yanukovich, the country’s prosecutors said on Monday.

"The asset forfeiture was carried out as part of criminal proceedings initiated against Yanukovich," the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office replied to an inquiry by the Ukrainski Novini (Ukrainian News) information agency. The property in question includes a land allotment, three residential properties, two garages, pictures, icons, as well as some modes of water transport.
Prosecutors assert that Yanukovich and his entourage has illegally come into possession of state property worth more than 540 mln hryvnias ($20mln) in the Pushcha-Voditsa residential complex and the Mezhigorye residence. The former president, in turn, has denied that his property had any illegal origin.
Earlier, Ukrainian prosecutors said that about $127 mln of Yanukovich’s property had been confiscated in Ukraine.
