On October 13, a meeting between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Turkey - Abdulaziz Kamilov and Mevlut Cavusoglu was held in Baku.

Axar.az reports the meeting was held within the framework of the VII meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council).

The ministers congratulated each other on Uzbekistan's accession to the Turkic Council. They expressed confidence that Uzbekistan's accession to the Turkic Council would significantly enhance the potential of multilateral cooperation within the organization.

During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of the Uzbek-Turkish strategic partnership and its future development in specific directions.

The parties confirmed their interest in the further development of multilateral cooperation in a bilateral format and in the format of the Turkic Council.

Both ministers are in the capital of Azerbaijan to attend the 7th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council).
