Sympathy for Putin has declined sharply

Positive attitude toward Russian President Vladimir Putin dropped by 10%.

Axar.az reports this result was revealed in a survey by Levada Center. 32% of Russians have a positive attitude toward Putin. Respondents who were sympathetic to Putin made up 24% of respondents, a similar figure for the last time in 2011.

15% of respondents said they were in a neutral position. Overall, 6 percent of those who favor Putin have a negative attitude.

However, 70% of respondents said they supported the activities of the Russian president.

Lev Gudkov, director of Levada Center, said that Vladimir Putin's supporters are mostly women and elderly people living in the region. He said the reduction in sympathy for Putin was due to the president's political course and pension reform.
