Recently, the Iranian authorities have been exhibiting hostile behavior towards the Republic of Azerbaijan. Dissatisfied with this, the Turkic nation of Southern Azerbaijan decorates its houses and streets with the Azerbaijani flag starting from the New Year holiday (Novruz), thus responding to Iran.

Axar.az reports these words were told by well-known southern writer and journalist Masud Haray.

The writer from the south stated that the hanging of the Azerbaijani flag in several cities of South Azerbaijan and Iran is of great significance and pointed out that the Mullah regime is aggressively approaching the issue of the flag:
"The flag is the flag of all Azerbaijan. This is a challenge to send a message to Iran that "we are continuing our struggle, we will build a united, whole Azerbaijan". That is why the Iranian authorities severely punish anyone who holds Azerbaijani flags on the charge of "espionage". Dozens of our national activists were arrested and imprisoned on this charge. If Iran's behavior towards Azerbaijan does not change, we will see our flags flying in South Azerbaijan a lot. Because this is one of the methods of struggle we have chosen against the regime.
