Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Executive Director of the Council on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (COCEM) Kairat Sarybay.

Axar.az was informed about this by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the possible priorities and plans for Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the AQEM for 2024-2026, current affairs within the organization, and prospects.

Executive director Kairat Sarybay noted with satisfaction that Azerbaijan always actively participates in the framework of AQEM and conveyed his sincere congratulations on the occasion of the election of the chairman.

Noting that topics such as transport links and the environment are among the most urgent issues for AQEM, K. Sarybay emphasized that Azerbaijan was selected for its constructive position in this regard.

At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the transformation of AQEM, the orientation of the organization's activity on issues of common interest and current issues, preparations for the Ministerial meeting to be held under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan and the upcoming Summit, opportunities for cooperation within the framework of COP-29, as well as regional issues.
