On August 12, the USA and Italy joined Germany, the United Kingdom, and France in urging Iran to stop its ongoing military threats against Israel.

Axar.az reports this was noted in a joint statement from the countries.

"We, the leaders of the USA, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy, discussed the situation in the Middle East. We expressed our full support for ongoing efforts to reduce tensions, achieve a ceasefire, and secure the release of hostages in Gaza. We supported President Biden's, Egyptian President Sisi's, and Qatari Emir Tamim's joint call to resume negotiations as soon as possible this weekend. All parties must fulfill their commitments. We expressed our support for Israel's defense against Iran's aggression and the attacks by its supported terrorist groups. We called on Iran to cease its ongoing military threats against Israel and discussed the serious regional security implications of such an attack," the statement said.
