Iran opposes geopolitical and border changes

Iran is firmly against any steps toward geopolitical and border changes.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasir Kanani at today’s briefing.

Nasir Kanani mentioned that Iran supports the strengthening of the “3+3” regional format for conflict resolution:

“Currently, the corridor issue is more in focus than ever. The news and analyses published about the corridor are based on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent visit to Azerbaijan and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s statements. Iran remains committed to supporting the removal of economic blocs within the framework of respect for regional independence and territorial integrity, and to promoting peace between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Some are trying to turn the Caucasus region into an area of instability. They are pursuing instability in the region at any cost. We firmly oppose any attempts to alter the borders in the region.”
