European institutions are allowing Armenia to violate the sanctions imposed on Russia because it strengthens Armenia economically and enables Russia to continue the war.

Axar.az reports that Qudrat Hasanoglu, the chairman of the Human Rights Party and a member of parliament, made these remarks in an interview about why the EU and the US are enabling Armenia to breach the sanctions against Russia.

He stated that in the Russia-Ukraine war, eventually, a second concession will be forced, but for now, the West is interested in continuing the war until both sides are completely exhausted.

The parliamentarian emphasized that the West wants to turn Armenia into its outpost in the region:

"One of the largest US embassies in the world is in Armenia. To control or dismantle Iran, the West needs an outpost in the region. They consider Armenia to be the most suitable country for this. Because Armenians hate their neighbors and are always ready to betray and participate in plots against them. Therefore, Armenia is also being armed and receives direct and indirect substantial economic support. The West, particularly France, has a serious hidden influence on both Iran and Russia in defending Armenia. It is now noted in Armenia that learning French is important, and significant efforts are being made in this direction. Unfortunately, some circles in Russia and Iran, who harbor hatred towards Turks, have thought from time to time that supporting Armenia's aggressive policy would soften the West’s stance towards them and prevent the rapprochement of Turkic states. But they have not understood that their vital interests require them to befriend Turkic states, instead, they have kept a snake in their sheepfolds.”

The parliamentarian thanked Azerbaijani NGOs for their concerns and the relevant bodies of the US and EU for their appeals regarding the consequences of Armenia’s breach of sanctions:

"But due to the reasons I mentioned, this appeal will have no result."

The parliamentarian also noted that the Azerbaijani state has no means to change the West's policy:

"We simply need to inform the international community that this policy will not bring peace and security to the region and is not forward-looking. We need to convince them that, as supporting Armenia's 30-year aggressive policy achieved nothing, this time they will also face disappointment. Azerbaijan must expand cooperation with its allies and Turkic states and implement reforms in building a strong free market economy and a professional army."
