Relations between Azerbaijan and Russia are developing positively, and the parties are implementing many interesting projects.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the Kremlin.

'Today we have spoken with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Last night, we informally discussed the current state of our relations. I would like to note right away that the relations are developing positively. We noted this during my official visit to Azerbaijan,' he said.

Putin added that trade turnover between Russia and Azerbaijan amounts to $4.3 billion, and Russian direct investments in the Azerbaijani economy exceed $4 billion.

'There are many good, interesting projects in both the energy sector and infrastructure development, all of which are promising, real, vibrant, bilateral, and multilateral projects,' the Russian leader stated.

He mentioned that it is encouraging that during the summit of the CIS heads of state, 'there is an opportunity today to exchange current information and perhaps make certain adjustments to this progress, which is evident.'
