Preliminary results: Sandu leads Stoianoglo

The preliminary results of the presidential elections held in Moldova have been announced.

After counting 95% of the ballots, the results are as follows:

- Alexandr Stoianoglo - 48.14%

- Maia Sandu - 51.86%

Maia Sandu is receiving significant support primarily from the diaspora in European countries.

It should be noted that no winner was determined in the presidential elections held on October 20. In the second round, the current president Maia Sandu and former prosecutor general Alexandr Stoianoglo are competing.

Alexandr Stoianoglo is of Gagauz ethnicity.

After counting 98.9% of the ballots, the results are as follows:

- Aleksandr Stoianoglo - 45%

- Maya Sandu - 55%

Maya Sandu has received significant support primarily from the diaspora in European countries. She has already declared her victory.

It is worth noting that Aleksandr Stoianoglo is an ethnic Gagauz.
