I would like to express my gratitude to the heads of state and governments of Turkiye, Pakistan, Egypt, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Bangladesh for accepting Azerbaijan as a member of the organization during the Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (D-8) in Cairo today.

Axar.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev in his post on page X regarding the acceptance of Azerbaijan as a member of the D-8 organization.

"Supporting Azerbaijan's candidacy is an indication of our sincere friendship and cooperation with these countries.

The D-8 organization, created at the initiative of Turkiye, has been operating for almost 30 years, and for the first time, a decision was made regarding the expansion. This is a source of pride for us.

I assure my colleagues that Azerbaijan, together with other countries, will not spare its efforts for the further development of the organization and the strengthening of Islamic solidarity," the post states.
