The 11th President of the Republic of Turkiye, Abdullah Gul, has sent a letter of condolences to President Ilham Aliyev.

"Dear Mr. President,

I received the news of the tragic loss of passengers and crew members in the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, with deep sorrow.

In relation to this tragedy, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Your Excellency and the entire Azerbaijani people. I pray for Allah's mercy on those who lost their lives in the horrific crash, and I wish patience to their families and a speedy recovery to those who were injured.

This heavy loss is a grief shared by all of us. I wish for such a tragedy never to be repeated.

Taking this opportunity, I wish you, your family, and the brotherly Azerbaijani people good health and prosperity."
