Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced his resignation from the leadership of the Liberal Party.

Axar.az reports that the 53-year-old politician announced during a press conference in the capital Ottawa that he will remain in the position of Prime Minister until the party chooses a new leader.

Justin Trudeau stressed that the country's parliament will suspend its activities until March 24.

It should be noted that earlier it was reported that he will resign on January 8.
