President Ilham Aliyev, in an interview with local television channels on January 7, touched on the relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, and the future policy of the new leadership of Iran.

Axar.az reports that the head of state noted in this regard:

"It's a bit early to talk about it. Because we have not had such serious contact with the current Iranian leadership. There were certain contacts between government members. They were more related to economic and transport issues."

The President of Azerbaijan also mentioned some points related to the deterioration of relations with the previous government.
