The Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has addressed a letter of condolences to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

"On behalf of the Government of the State of Qatar and on my own behalf, I express my deepest condolences to Your Excellency and the families of the deceased regarding the tragedy that occurred as a result of the crash of an Azerbaijani plane and wish the injured a speedy recovery. I pray to Almighty Allah to have mercy on those who lost their lives. May their place be in Paradise!"

Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Amir of the State of Qatar has also addressed a letter of condolences to President Ilham Aliyev.

The letter reads:

"On behalf of the Government of the State of Qatar and personally, I express my deepest condolences to Your Excellency and the families of those who lost their lives in the tragedy that occurred as a result of the crash of an Azerbaijani plane, and I wish the injured a speedy recovery.

I pray to Almighty Allah to grant mercy on those who perished. May their resting place be in paradise."
