Canadian actor and Hollywood star Donald Sutherland, known for his roles in Pride and Prejudice and The Hunger Games, has died at the age of 89.

Axar.az reports that Kiefer X, the actor's son, informed about this.

"It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the passing of my father, Donald Sutherland," he wrote.

The actor died in Miami after a long illness.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed his condolences on the actor's death.
