The opening of the "Oil Boom Smiles at Everyone" festival dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the outstanding writer, playwright, and screenwriter Magsud Ibrahimbeyov took place at the Magsud Ibrahimbeyov Creativity Center.
Axar.az reports that the event was attended by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Director of the Center Anna Ibrahimbeyova expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported the project and participated in its preparation. Curator Nigar Rzayeva noted that the festival brings together theater, literature, cinema, fine arts, and modern thought, creating a lively cultural dialogue between the past and the present.
N. Rzayeva emphasized that the festival, created based on the play of the same name by Magsud Ibrahimbeyov, depicts the moment when a person stands on the threshold of a great breakthrough.
"The main character feels confused. He does not know where this new stage will lead him. Today we also live in our technological, fast and exciting "boom". Times change, but the inner world of a person and his basic values remain unchanged", - N. Rzayeva noted.
The festival creates a multi-genre space inspired by the author's creative heritage and rediscovers the artistic potential of his works. The play "The Oil Boom Smiles at Everyone", written in the 1960s, reveals the universal themes of choice, responsibility, and fate as questions that remain relevant in the 21st century.
The event continued with a reading of parts of the story "Our Oil with Timka" by Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Firdovsi Atakishiyev, by Magsud Ibrahimbeyov.
At the end of the ceremony, the well-known Russian journalist Mikhail Gusman shared his sincere memories of his friend Magsud Ibrahimbeyov. He emphasized that the opportunity to meet and communicate with Magsud was "a gift of fate" and a very valuable life experience.
M.Gusman noted that he remembers Ibrahimbeyov not only as an outstanding writer and playwright, but also as a very young and energetic person.
In his opinion, Magsud Ibrahimbeyov will forever remain one of the most valuable sons of Azerbaijan - a person who infinitely loved his country and people, loyal to his native land with all his being.
It should be noted that the activities of the Magsud Ibrahimbeyov Creative Center are aimed at preserving the writer's heritage and supporting new cultural initiatives. The festival continues this mission by connecting the past and the present, expanding the space for dialogue between generations, and drawing attention to the author's ideas, which have not lost their relevance even today.
