Azerbaijan marks Ramadan Holiday

Ramadan is being celebrated in Azerbaijan today.

Fasting dates back to the time of the Prophet Muhammad, when the month of Ramadan was first observed in Medina. It was during one of the last ten nights of Ramadan that the Holy Quran was revealed.

In Azerbaijan, Ramadan Bayram has been celebrated at the state level since 1993.

It should be noted that this year, Ramadan in Azerbaijan began on February 19. According to a decision by the Cabinet of Ministers, March 20 and 21 are observed as Ramadan Bayram holidays in the country.
