Pinar Peyman Mersinli, the mother of İsa Araz Mersinli, who carried out an armed attack on a school in the city of Kahramanmarash in Turkiye killing 10 people and injuring 20 others, has been arrested.

Axar.az informs, citing Turkish media, the teenager’s mother ignored doctors’ recommendations that her son required psychiatric treatment, and this negligence is believed to have contributed to the incident.

It is reported that psychologists at two different medical institutions had recommended treatment before the attack, but the mother did not follow these recommendations or seek appropriate medical care.

The prosecutor’s office requested her arrest on charges of negligence, and the court approved the motion, ordering her detention.

It is noted that Mersinli, who is said to be a teacher, has been sent to prison by court order. The investigation is ongoing.
