An Azerbaijani delegation has arrived in Tehran to attend the farewell ceremony for Iran's former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei.

Axar.az reports, citing APА, the Azerbaijani delegation arrived in Tehran a short while ago and was welcomed at the airport by Iranian officials.

Note that the delegation includes Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova, Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Prime Minister of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Jabbar Musayev, and other officials.

Recall that Seyyed Ali Khamenei was killed together with close family members during a joint US-Israeli attack on Tehran on February 28. He was later succeeded by his son, Mojtaba Khamenei.

Ali Khamenei's farewell ceremony will be held on July 4-5 at the Mosalla complex in Tehran, after which the body will be transferred to the city of Qom.

Following the farewell ceremony in Qom, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei will be buried in Mashhad on July 9, in accordance with his will.
