Since the 5 April agreement on the cessation of hostilities on the line of contact between Azerbaijani and Armenian troops, the Armenian side has been releasing conflicting casualty figures, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry told.

According to the ministry, Armenia is attempting to accuse Azerbaijan of breaking the ceasefire by giving frequent reports on its killed soldiers.

The Defense Ministry reiterates that the Azerbaijani side is in full compliance with the truce that ended military operations on the contact line of troops.

There may be two reasons behind the Armenian side providing continuous information on the casualties: either they have decided to separately reveal the corpses’ identities which they failed to conceal or the newly announced deaths have resulted from the ongoing disorder and chaos within the army that began after days of fierce fighting on the front line.
