The Academy of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations on Friday hosted a meeting with volunteers of Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe which is due to take place in Baku on June 17-19.
Addressing the meeting, MES Academy chief, Major General Panah Suleymanov said that thanks to stability and development Azerbaijan is able to hold international competitions, the ministry told APA.
In recent years, Azerbaijan has become a sports country by hosting a number of international events, Suleymanov said, noting that the volunteers’ activities indicate the patriotism of Azerbaijani youth.
Then a video on the MES Academy was displayed.
In his speech at the meeting, Atif Gambarov, Workforce Manager of Baku City Circuit Operations Company, said that volunteers will receive important knowledge at the MES trainings.
“Our volunteers have closely cooperated with MES employees in all competitions. Indeed, we are proud to have such active volunteers,” he added.
The volunteers were informed about code of conduct and issue of evacuation in case of emergency situations during F-1 race.
MES employees visually demonstrated first aid to conditional victims.
Finally, firefighters showed how to extinguish a conditional fire using fire extinguisher.
