Iran accuses Israel of violating ceasefire agreement

There is no justification for continuing dialogue with the United States, given that Israel has violated the first clause of the memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran.

Axar.az reports that Tasnim News Agency made the remarks while commenting on reports of a possible meeting in Switzerland between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and U.S. President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.

Tasnim stated that the first clause of the memorandum, which calls for an end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, had been “completely violated” by Israel’s actions in southern Lebanon.

“Negotiating officials should not only suspend any further talks, but should also close the Strait of Hormuz before it is too late,” the report said.

According to Tasnim, Article 13 of the memorandum stipulates that if key provisions of the agreement are not implemented, no further action should be taken. The report argued that keeping the Strait of Hormuz open under the current circumstances would be a mistake.
