Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov had a telephone conversation with US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Reeker.

Expressing concern over the tensions on the border between the two countries, Philip Reeker stressed the importance of stabilizing the situation.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other side about the tensions on the border between the two countries, especially the recent provocations by Armenia, intensive firing on Azerbaijani positions, resulting in the death of an Azerbaijani serviceman on July 23 and the wounding of two servicemen on July 28. . It was noted that the Azerbaijani side took appropriate measures in response to these provocations and defended our border positions.

The Minister stressed that Azerbaijan is not interested in the escalation of the situation and supports the settlement of all disputes through political and diplomatic means.
