The reaction of the US State Department to President Ilham Aliyev's plain text message from Lachin is being seriously discussed in Armenia.

Axar.az reports that Armenian experts regard the immediate support of President Aliyev's message by the United States as proof that the Karabakh conflict has already become history.

Armenian expert Edgar Elbakyan called this position the result of Yerevan's official recognition of Karabakh as a part of Azerbaijan.

According to the expert who said, "We are witnessing behind-the-scenes negotiations", this statement of the USA can be translated as follows: "If you recognize Karabakh as a part of Azerbaijan, then which president are we talking about in this area?"

It should be recalled that during his visit to Lachin on May 28, President Aliyev announced in his speech in which cases concessions can be made to the Armenian "officials" in Karabakh.

"Everyone knows very well that today we have every opportunity to conduct any operation in that region (Karabakh - ed.). Therefore, the "parliament" should be dissolved, the element calling itself "president" should surrender, all "ministers", "deputies" and others should leave their positions. But in that case, they can be exempted. However, in that case, any amnesty can be discussed," President Aliyev emphasized.

Matthew Miller, the spokesperson of the US State Department, reacted to these words in this way: "We welcome the recent statements of President Aliyev regarding the amnesty."
