Eight injured after car mounts footpath in south Dublin

Seven teenage pedestrians and a female driver in her 40s have been injured after a car mounted a footpath in Dun Laoghaire, south Dublin.

Axar.az reports, citing RTE, that all eight injured people were taken to different hospitals for treatment.

Initial reports suggested that the driver may have suffered a medical episode and lost control of the vehicle, causing it to mount the pavement.

Four ambulances, several fire brigade units and Garda vehicles attended the scene. The road remains closed while emergency services deal with the incident.
