In the first 2 months of 2024, the number of tourists who came to Azerbaijan increased by 46.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 341 thousand people. During this period, the neighboring countries formed the top three: 26.8 percent of the arrivals came from Russia, 19.9 percent from Turkiye, and 9.8 percent from Iran.

He said that 6.9 percent of the total tourists were citizens of India, 4.8 percent of Georgia, and 3.4 percent of Saudi Arabia.
"When it comes to growth, as in 2023, those coming from China are still in the lead. Compared to the same period last year, the number of arrivals from China increased 4.1 times, from Saudi Arabia 2.8 times, India 2.7 times, Kyrgyzstan 2.6 times, Bahrain 2.5 times, Kazakhstan 2.4 times, Tajikistan 2.4 times, 2 times from the Philippines, 1.9 times from Oman, 1.9 times from Spain, 1.9 times from Uzbekistan, 1.9 times from South Korea, 1.8 times from Jordan, 1.8 times from Italy, 1.7 times from Turkmenistan, 1 from Egypt,7 times, 1.7 times from Yemen, 1.6 times from Kuwait, 1.6 times from Iran.
The number of arrivals from Arab countries has started to increase again. Thus, the number of arrivals from the Gulf states increased 1.7 times in January-February of this year. The same increase was recorded in the number of arrivals from the European Union. The increase in arrivals from the CIS countries is relatively small: only 31.4 percent.
Official statistics show that there are again increases in the number of arrivals from the Gulf countries, especially Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. In general, the number of tourists was affected by the increase in the number of flights from Baku, as well as the increase in economy flights. At the same time, there is a seasonal increase in interest in the tourism opportunities of Azerbaijan.
