In 2015, Azerbaijan handed over an internationally wanted person accused of tax evasion to Austria.

Axar.az reports that the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office released information about this.

It was reported that the mentioned person is Turkish citizen, Uzbek Gudrat Abdullatif, born in 1975. He was identified in Azerbaijan in December 2023 and a preventive measure was taken against him.

The petition of the Federal Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Austria regarding the extradition of the person was sent to the Baku Court of Serious Crimes for consideration by the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan.

"According to the European Convention on Extradition and its Additional Protocols, a decision was made to extradite the convict and he was handed over to the competent authorities of Austria, accompanied by a special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice," the information said.
