A temporary restriction has been imposed on the import of all types of live large and small ruminants from certain areas of France and Algeria to Azerbaijan.
Axar.az informs that this was reported by the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA).
It was noted that based on official information from the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), cases of bluetongue in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France, aphthae epizooticae in the Tizi-Ouzou province and cases of nodular dermatitis in Qardaya, Blida, Batna, Tizi-Ouzou, Jijel, Boumerdes, Bouira, Bejaia, and Media provinces of Algeria have been reported.
To protect the territory of Azerbaijan from the mentioned infectious diseases, a temporary restriction has been imposed on the import of all types of live large and small ruminants, camels, and their genetic materials from within a 150 km radius of the infected farm in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Additionally, a 10 km radius restriction has been established for the import and transit of ungulates (including large and small ruminants, pigs, camels, etc.) and their raw materials and products from the infected farm in the Tizi-Ouzou province. Furthermore, a temporary restriction on the import of all types of live large ruminants and their genetic materials from within a 50 km radius of the infected farms in the provinces of Qardaya, Blida, Batna, Tizi-Ouzou, Jijel, Boumerdes, Bouira, Bejaia, Media, and Mila has been implemented in accordance with the WOAH’s "Terrestrial Animal Health Code."
At the same time, in order to strengthen control measures, a request has been made to the State Customs Committee for the implementation of appropriate measures concerning vehicles arriving from the mentioned administrative regions, those transiting through the country, and those traveling from the territory of the republic to other countries.
