The Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, General-Polkovnik Kamaladdin Heydarov, met with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to our country, Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid.

Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov warmly greeted the Ambassador and reminded him of the long-standing close relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt in various fields. In this context, the Minister expressed confidence that today's meeting would be useful in terms of forming relations between the relevant agencies of the two countries in the fight against emergencies.
Kamaladdin Heydarov noted that the 57th session of the Executive Council and the 26th session of the General Assembly of the International Civil Defense Organization were organized at a high level in the Arab Republic of Egypt in October of the previous year.
Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov, who provided the guest with detailed information about the work done in our country in the field of emergency management, also spoke about the existing potential for effective cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the relevant state agencies of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the areas of emergency management and civil defense. At the same time, the prospects for cooperation between the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Egypt's relevant state bodies and educational institutions in the fields of training highly qualified specialists and addressing training and education issues were highlighted.
The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Azerbaijan, Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid, who thanked for the warm meeting, first expressed his condolences regarding the tragic crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane near Aktau city in December of the previous year, which resulted in the loss of lives.
The Ambassador then emphasized the high-level organization of the global event COP29 by Azerbaijan and the successful outcomes achieved. He also called the unanimous election of the Republic of Azerbaijan as a member of the Developing Eight (D-8) Economic Cooperation Organization at the XI Summit in Cairo, Egypt, in December 2024, a great success.
Ambassador Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid recalled that the relations between the two countries are continuously expanding and spoke about the mutual benefits of forming relations between the relevant agencies in the field of preventing and eliminating the consequences of emergencies. He mentioned that he would spare no effort in this direction.
The meeting also involved an extensive exchange of views on matters of mutual interest.
