On August 11, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Victorious Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended a ceremony in Nakhchivan dedicated to the presentation of Battle Flags to the newly established operational (commando) military units of the Separate Combined Arms Army.

Axar.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were welcomed by the leadership of the Ministry of Defense at the headquarters of the Separate Combined Arms Army.

Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov reported to the Commander-in-Chief on the newly established military units.

President Ilham Aliyev was briefed on the preparations for the Battle Flags presentation ceremony.

The Victorious Commander-in-Chief saluted the personnel.

Following reports by the commanders of the operational (commando) military units to President Ilham Aliyev, the commanders received the Battle Flags and took their places in formation.

The head of state and the First Lady posed for a commemorative photograph with the personnel of the commando military units.

At the end of the ceremony, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were briefed on the weapon systems and military-technical equipment in the arsenal of the Azerbaijani Army.
