33 years have passed since the Armenians committed a massacre against Azerbaijanis in the village of Aghdaban, Kalbajar region.
Axar.az reports that on the night of April 7-8, 1992, the Armenian Armed Forces and Armenian military units in Karabakh committed atrocities against the residents of Aghdaban. During the occupation of the village, which consisted of 130 houses, all the houses were burned, and 779 civilians were executed. 32 residents were killed through various tortures. 8 elderly people, 2 children, and 7 women were burned alive, 9 people were seriously injured, and 5 people were taken hostage.
During the occupation of the village, Armenians destroyed historical, architectural, and cultural monuments, and destroyed a shrine and cemetery dating back to the Turkic-Islamic period. The manuscripts of the master of Azerbaijani ashig poetry, Ashig Gurban and his son Ashig Shamshir, as well as the house museum, were burned.
It should be noted that the village of Aghdaban is located in the Kalbajar district, 56 km northeast of the district center.
Today, the residents of Aghdaban are in their native lands.
