Paris Saint-Germain of France defeated England’s Aston Villa​ 2-1 in the 2026 UEFA Super Cup in Salzburg on Wednesday to retain the title and become only the third team in history to win the competition in consecutive seasons.

Axar.az reports, citing UEFA, that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring for Paris in the 20th minute, cutting inside before firing a powerful right-footed shot past Marco Bizot.

Aston Villa equalized just before halftime through 17-year-old Brian Madjo, who converted John McGinn’s cross from close range in the 45th minute. The goal made Madjo the youngest scorer in UEFA Super Cup history at 17 years and 212 days.

Desire Doue restored Paris’ lead in the 61st minute, curling a composed finish into the far corner after being played through by Ousmane Dembele.

Villa pushed for another equalizer in the closing stages, but Paris held on to secure its second consecutive Super Cup triumph.
