Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has congratulated Sabah FC on securing a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Axar.az reports that Aliyev shared the message on his X account.

“I sincerely congratulate Sabah Football Club on achieving a magnificent victory and securing a place in the main stage of the UEFA Champions League.

It is a source of particular joy and pride that a newly established team has achieved such a major accomplishment in such a short period of time.

The fact that our clubs have secured the right to compete in the main stage of the world’s strongest club tournament for the second consecutive time is another clear indication of Azerbaijan’s progress in all areas and the country’s position as a sporting nation.

I wish Sabah Football Club many more victories and successes in its upcoming matches!” the post said.
