Hosting the Spanish Super Cup in Azerbaijan in the coming years is one of the possible options.

Axar.az reports, citing Оxu.az, that this was stated by Manuel Lalinde, director general of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

According to him, an alternative host for the Spanish Super Cup was sought because the 2027 Asian Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia. During this process, proposals were received from several countries, including Azerbaijan, the United States, China, Morocco and Qatar.

Lalinde highlighted the strong international interest in the competition and noted that there were opportunities to increase revenue from hosting the Super Cup.

It should be noted that the 2027 Spanish Super Cup will be held in Istanbul. The semi-final matches are scheduled for February 2 and 3, while the final will take place on February 6.
