French footballer passes away after 39 years in a coma

French national football player Jean-Pierre Adams has died.

Axar.az reports that the footballer fell into a coma during an operation in 1982 as a result of a mistake made by doctors.

The 73-year-old defender, who played for the French national team for a while, died in hospital after 39 years.

During his coma, he occasionally opened his eyes, but never fully recovered from the coma.

Jean-Pierre Adams played for the French national team from 1972-1976.
